Chitwan
Nepal's premier wildlife sanctuary where jungle safaris reveal rhinos, tigers, and exotic birds.
Chitwan National Park is Nepal's first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Situated in the subtropical lowlands of southern Nepal (the Terai), Chitwan protects one of the last populations of one-horned rhinoceros and Bengal tigers in Asia. A safari here immerses you in dense sal forests, tall elephant grass, and riverside habitats teeming with over 700 species of wildlife. Beyond jeep safaris, visitors can enjoy canoe rides down the Rapti River, elephant breeding center visits, and cultural experiences with the indigenous Tharu community, whose stilted homes and stick dances are a highlight of any visit.
